Definition

Water-Resistant Gypsum Board is a gypsum board designed for use in locations where it may be exposed to occasional dampness. It has undergone a chemical treatment to make it resistant to moisture, but not necessarily waterproof.

Purpose

The purpose of water-resistant gypsum board is to provide a durable and moisture-resistant wall surface in areas prone to occasional dampness, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and basements.
