Burlap

Definition

Burlap is a coarse fabric made of jute, hemp, or, less commonly, flax, used as a water-retaining covering in curing concrete surfaces; also called Hessian.

Purpose

Burlap is used in concrete curing to retain moisture and prevent the concrete from drying out too quickly, which is essential for achieving the desired strength and durability. It helps maintain the proper hydration of the cement during the curing process.
