Definition

A document that provides information on the properties of potentially hazardous chemicals, including safe handling practices, health effects, and emergency procedures.

Purpose

MSDSs are essential for ensuring the safe use, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals. They provide detailed information to workers, emergency responders, and regulatory authorities about the risks associated with chemicals and how to mitigate those risks.

• Workplace safety: Providing employees with information on how to handle and store chemicals safely.
